Brownlow Start Season With Win

Brownlow IC junior football team started the season with a win against City of Armagh High School.  In very blustery conditions it was the away side who took advantage of the wind in the first half, with Brownlow being punished for not dealing with the danger. Armagh found themselves 2-0 up despite Brownlow playing the better football.

Brownlow created chances through the very dangerous Janirson Pereira and Malio Amaral but they could not find the back of the net. Colin Vennard was pulling the strings in the midfield along with the impressive Kian Murphy. Shea Lewsley also went close but Brownlow couldnt get that elusive goal and went in at the break 2-0 down.

The half time team talk was simple. “Keep doing the things we are doing” was the instructions from Coach Gosling. Brownlow battled and dug in and got their rewards. The first goal came from an inswinging corner from Jayden Doyle and was indavertantly put into his own net by the Armagh number 2. Janirson got his well deserved goal with a great mazy run and the icing on the cake was a double from the impresssive Malio Amaral, right at the death.

A thoroughly deserved win from a team that battled all the way to the end.
