Icthus

The aim of Icthus is to help pupils have a greater understanding of the Christian Faith and to help them grow in that faith. All pupils attending Brownlow Integrated College are invited and welcomed to attend Icthus which takes place Wednesday lunchtimes in HE1. Icthus Club is well supported with 30-40 pupils attending lunchtime sessions each week. We very much enjoy the fellowship and fun each lunchtime, exploring the Christian faith and its relevance to our lives today – guest speakers, stories, quizzes and pizza days are regular features. Out of school activities include cinema nights, bowling and a trip to the Belfast Christmas Markets.

Our Icthus pupils play a huge part in our Christmas and Easter Services with all involved in some shape or form. The Icthus staff are always so pleased and proud to see our pupils standing up and taking part in these whole school events – no mean feat to stand up in front of an assembly hall full of people!

There is no doubt the highlight of the Icthus Calendar is our weekend residential which is usually held at the residential centre of the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum. Our pupils take huge lead roles in the weekend – prayers, drama, readings, testimonies, stories, singing, dancing and so much more. Our always amaze us with their confidence, ability and maturity and we all come away very much blessed by our time together.
