Zero Tolerance Policy

Dear Parent / Guardian

I would like to advise you that there is a zero tolerance policy in school in respect of any type of physical attack on another pupil or any form of bullying.  I can assure you that I will be imposing the maximum sanction available for this type of behaviour.

I would also like to advise you that I will not tolerate any pupil who swears at a teacher, is disrespectful or disruptive in class.  Parents will be informed of such behaviour and an appropriate sanction imposed.

Mobile phones are not permitted to be used in school during the school day.  Pupils should leave their phones switched off in school bags during class time, including moving between classes and should be put in blazer pockets, again switch off, at break and lunch time.  If you need to get an urgent message to your son or daughter, please phone the school office. If a pupil uses a phone in class, it will be confiscated and kept in the office until the end of the school day, when it can be collected by the pupil. On a second occasion of using a mobile phone, the phone will remain in the school office until it is collected by a parent.

The success of Brownlow Integrated College is built on culture of good and positive relationships between all members of our school community and I recognise that the majority of our pupils behave in an exemplary manner. I would therefore appreciate your help and support in encouraging your son or daughter to abide by the school rules, to ensure that children can continue to be taught in a safe and happy learning environment.

Yours faithfully
Mrs N Stevenson
Principal
