Seniors On A Roll

After a hard fought one nil win in our opening game against Markethill HS, the U16s went on the road for what was expected to be a tough away match at Newtownhamilton HS.

After a rousing team talk the boys got off to a flyer, with Brandon Higgins winning a penalty after 30 seconds. This was cooly slotted home by Tomas Sustek. Brownlow were winning all loose ball and forced a turn over on the edge of the box. After an initial attempt to cross the ball was blocked, the ball rolled back to Brandon Higgins who fired it home from outside the box with the outside of his left foot.

2 up at half time and with no intention of easing off, the Brownlow lads fought and scrapped for every ball. After a sustained spell of pressure, a through ball from Captain Toni Wroblewski found Eoin Livingston to calmly finish for 3. The next goal arrived from a corner, a dangerous ball in from Higgins landed right onto the dome of Matthew Brady to head home for four. With further chances coming and going Brownlow continued to push.

Another dangerous corner put in by Higgins caused mayhem in the Newtownhamilton defence and the ball fell to Eoin Livingston to finish to the open net for 5. With game time for all members of the squad and hard work from every player the team should be very proud. A fantastic example of winning the battle before winning the game.
