NI100: Technology Department

Pupils in Year 10 have spent the last few weeks looking at the product design process, focusing on how all products must meet a demand and outdo any competition that they may already have. To mark the NI100, pupils had the opportunity to research some of the greatest inventions that were manufactured in Northern Ireland, and some of our most famous Engineers!

Although we were confident in recognising our most famous manufacturing projects such as The Titanic, we learned about so many other things that were made here – one of our favourite facts for the football fans was that the penalty kick was invented by William McCrum who was from Millfield in Co. Armagh.

To show off the great research we produced, we all made some posters to show the significant facts about each of these inventions and are now on display outside our TD room!
