Daily Update From Principal

All parents should now have received an email explaining how their child can access online learning and resources whilst they are unable to attend school.  If you have not received this email please contact the school immediately.  If your child is unable to log on, please contact the school.  Codes for google classroom will be emailed to your child by tomorrow.

Teachers have also put together study packs with a step by step guide for accessing google classroom.  The packs also contain teachers’ school email addresses and contacts for the safeguarding and pastoral care team should your son or daughters require any pastoral support.  These packs are now available to collect from the school reception at the following times:

KS4 (Year 11 and Year 12) Thursday 19/3/2020 12:00 noon to 3:30 p.m.

KS3 (Year 8 – Year 10) Friday 20/03/2020 11:00 to 3:30 p.m.

It is really important that children continue to study at home during the period of school closure.  Form teachers will maintain contact with pupils twice per week and teachers will be setting work that should be completed every week for all subjects.  We would really appreciate your support in ensuring your child completes all work set.

The impact of the coronavirus, COVID 19 appears to be relatively mild in young people, however, it can have fatal consequences for the elderly and vulnerable in our community.  We all have a responsibility to prevent the risk of spreading this fatal disease and I would ask that all parents ensure their children remain at home during the period of school closure.

I will keep you updated through our school website and Facebook page.

Kind regards
Nicola Stevenson
