The Derrytrasna Pastoral Care Awards 2018
The Department of Education, in partnership with the Public Health Agency, is seeking examples of outstanding pastoral care in schools. The Awards recognise school communities that have demonstrated exceptional co-operative effort in supporting the pastoral care of pupils and their families in the past 18 months.
Schools cannot self-nominate but parents or others in the wider school community can nominate a school that has provided exceptional pastoral care.
Applications should be made by no later than 15 December 2017 using the online form available at http://www.education-ni.gov.uk/articles/derrytrasna-award-pastoral-care
What is Pastoral Care?
- Pastoral care in schools is about offering support to pupils’ personal needs rather than their schoolwork.
- It is about meeting the personal, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual needs of every child.
- We have a pastoral care policy in place to include such issues as child protection and bullying.
