The breakfast club has been running for many years now and is supervised by Mrs Dennison who is assisted by Ms Mercer. The club runs each day from 8.15am until 8.45am and costs just 20p per day; we are also funded by Extended Schools. We try to work around parents working hours and have some pupils who are given access into school and breakfast club from 7.45am onwards. Pupils can avail of a warm healthy breakfast which includes cereal, toast, fruit juice and fruit.
In November 2016 we were awarded the "Kelloggs’s Best Breakfast Club in Northern Ireland Award". Five pupils and three members of staff travelled all expenses paid to the award’s ceremony which was held in the Houses of Parliament in London. We were awarded £1,500 prize money and were treated to a tour of the Private Members Area of Parliament by local MPs who were present. We entered a further competition in December 2016 and were delighted to be awarded a further £200 as part of the Kellogg’s Christmas competition. We hope to purchase ICT equipment for pupils to use in the breakfast club to aid study and homework.
Pupils from all year groups are most welcome and we look forward to welcoming new members throughout the year.
